RED LAKE — Two people have been charged with impaired operation of one vehicle following a traffic complaint last month.
On Sept. 23, shortly before 1:00 p.m., members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Howey Street within the Municipality of Red Lake.
After officers located and stopped the vehicle, they determined that two individuals had been driving while impaired by alcohol, a 33-year-old man and 29-year-old woman, both of Sandy Lake First Nation. They were placed under arrest and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment for further testing.
Both accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake at a later date. OPP released the information on Oct. 2.
