DRYDEN — Two people face several charges after police seized suspected drugs and a loaded firearm.
Provincial police said officers were called to a disturbance at a Whyte Avenue business in Dryden on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers found that two people were in possession of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, along with the gun and cash.
An 18-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie is charged with multiple counts of drug possession, including two for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, knowledge of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
A 22-year-old from Gravenhurst is charged with multiple counts of drug possession, including two for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, knowledge of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and being the occupant of a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon.
