Two charged after drug investigation in Sioux Lookout

SIOUX LOOKOUT — Two people face charges after police agencies executed a search warrant at a Sioux Lookout residence.

Provincial police, with assistance from the Nishanwbe Aski Police Service, executed the search warrant on Wednesday.

Police said two people were arrested and suspected cocaine and oxycodone were seized, along with cash and items associated with drug trafficking.

Isaiah Green, a 24-year-old from Toronto, is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and failure to comply with a probation order.

Kristy Anishinabe, a 29-year-old from Sioux Lookout, is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both remain in custody and are expected to appear in a Sioux Lookout court at a later date.

The charges have yet to be tested in court.
