RED LAKE--Residents of Red Lake are being offered a unique opportunity to share gently used and unwanted household items with their neighbours.
The Municipality’s first Trash to Treasure Day of the season will be this Saturday, May 7. It is an initiative by their Environment, Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee whose goal is to reuse items rather than sending them to the landfill.
This Committee asks everyone to join their neighbours throughout the Red Lake area, each Saturday of the month to gather unwanted household items for treasure hunters.
Interested households can participate by:
- Collecting unwanted items
- Placing them by the curb where treasure hunters can safely access them.
- Creating a sign to let treasure hunters know that your items are up for grabs.
- Collect all remaining items by 4 p.m.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in this great way to get rid of gently used items that other member of your community can benefit from.
