EMO, Ont. -- A traffic stop in Lavalee Township led Ontario Provincial Police to charge a 27-year-old Emo man for driving while impaired.

Rainy River District Detachment Police, in a release issued on Sunday, said officers pulled a vehicle over just after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday on Kings Highway 11 for a traffic infraction.

During the course of the investigation officers determined the vehicle's driver was allegedly impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken to the Fort Frances OPP detachment for further testing.

This led to a charge of operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is expected back in court on June 10.
