Traffic stop leads to four arrests

Four individuals face charges after a traffic stop on Lakeview Drive and a search warrant at a residence on Second Street South in Kenora, resulting in a significant drug seizure on May 3.

KENORA - A large quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine and opioids were seized, along with other unknown substances.

Officers also seized numerous cell phones, drug paraphernalia, items consistent with drug trafficking and Canadian currency.

Carey Sas, 53, Glendon Loranger, 64 and Sally Kokokopenace, 23, all residents of Kenora, were arrested and charged under the controlled drugs and substances sct with:

  • Possession of a schedule one substance for trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Sara Duck, 33, of Nestor Falls, was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule one substance for trafficking

Loranger, Kokokopenace and Duck have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on June 2. Sas was remanded in custody until a scheduled bail hearing on May 4.

The Kenora Community Street Crime Unit was assisted by members of the Kenora Detachment, OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit.
