FORT FRANCES — Five people were arrested after a traffic stop led to a seizure of suspected cocaine.

Provincial police said officers were on general patrol Saturday afternoon when they saw a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 11 near Couchiching First Nation.

Officers stopped the vehicle and the investigation led to the discovery of suspected cocaine.

Five people — including one from Scarborough and one from Sudbury — are charged with drug possession. One of the accused was also arrested on outstanding warrants.

They have all been released from custody and are due to appear in court in January.
