Traffic Complaint leads to impaired charges in Kenora

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the heavy equipment machinery had been impaired by alcohol

KENORA - One individual has been arrested and charged with impaired operation following a traffic complaint responded to by members of the OPP Kenora detachment

On April 12, 2023, shortly after 5:30 p.m., members of the Kenora OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint of a heavy equipment machine driving erratically within the City of Kenora. Officers located the machine and initiated a traffic stop.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the heavy equipment machinery had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Kenora OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, John MCDONALD, 52-years-old, of Kenora, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs

Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on June 8, 2023, to answer to the above charges.
