DESMOND TOWNSHIP – The OPP Northwest Region reported that officers with the Kenora OPP detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 in Desmond Township just before midnight on May 25.

After the officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, they determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, a 35-year-old from Winnipeg, Man., has been arrested and charged with impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court in June.
