IGNACE—Residents of Ignace are invited to take part in this year’s Free Dump Day, to be held on July 16, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The township asks residents to go to the Ignace website where they can find that there are several items that can be dropped off free of charge. These items include: yard waste, scrap metal, fish remains, tires with the rims removed and appliances such as fridges and freezers.
Propane tanks are not accepted at the landfill site, as the township has reported that a few were located in the household garbage bins and this presents a risk to the landfill worker who bulldozes the area.
When taking advantage of their Free Dump Day, residents are reminded that proof of residency may be requested by the waste disposal attendant. A valid driver’s license or current property tax bill will be sufficient.
