KENORA — A traffic stop has led to the arrest of two people from the Greater Toronto Area on drug-trafficking charges.
OPP said members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau with assistance from other units and the Treaty Three Police Service stopped a vehicle Monday in Kenora.
Officers found a large quantity of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $400,000.
Investigators believe the drugs were being delivered to Kenora and nearby communities.
The accused, ages 20 and 23, are both residents of Brampton.
They are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and with possession of property obtained by crime.
The commander of the Kenora detachment, Insp. Jeffrey Duggan, issued a statement saying: "The OPP is committed to pursuing those who are trafficking illegal drugs to vulnerable members of our communities, and this enforcement significantly disrupts the drug supply in Kenora and the surrounding communities."
