FORT FRANCES — Nine “Builders, Athletes and Teams” who have been chosen by Fort Frances Sports Hall of Fame Committee, will soon be honoured at a special ceremony.
Planned for Aug. 13, at La Place Rendezvous, tickets for this induction ceremony go on sale in June at Tagg’s Source for Sports located at the corner of 2nd Street and Mowat Avenue.
The committee has announced the inductees, and has been highlighting each of them on their Facebook site.
To date they recently saluted coach Terry Ogden, who is being described by the Fort Frances Sports Hall of Fame Committee, as someone who, “For eighteen years was a fixture behind the Fort Frances High School Muskie boy’s hockey team bench. He crafted a winning tradition on the ice that is unsurpassed on the NORWOSSA circuit.”
Ogden led the Muskies to the All-Ontario Championships 11 times as a head coach, helping the Muskies win Silver Medals in 1982, 84 and 85 and Gold Medals in 1986 and before a hometown crowd in 1989.
The Fort Frances Sports Hall of Fame Committee, shared that the Muskies were the winningest team in the province over that period.
More information regarding tickets for this event to salute Coach Ogden and eight other “Builders, Athletes, and Teams” will be posted to their Facebook website soon. Stay tuned!
