DRYDEN – A Thunder Bay resident faces drug trafficking-related charges after an arrest in Dryden.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, officers observed a suspicious person at a local business in Dryden, and after a brief investigation, the individual in question was arrested, leading to the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine and hydromorphone, as well as further evidence of drug trafficking.

A 54-year-old Thunder Bay man was charged two counts possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine and hydromorphone), two counts of failure to comply with a release order, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a probation order.

The arrest was made on June 24.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people accused of crimes in which it is unlikely we will follow the case through to its conclusion in court.
