Thunder Bay man caught driving impaired in Red Lake

After a routine traffic stop over the holiday weekend, a Thunder Bay man is served several impaired driving charges.

RED LAKE – The in the early morning of Oct. 8, members of the Red Lake OPP Detachment initiated a traffic stop at the corner of Highway 125 and Highway 105 within the Municipality of Red Lake.

Through investigation, the officers determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old, Thunder Bay man was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Novice Driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • Obstruct Plate
  • Fail to use lower beam

He was released by way of Undertaking with a Red Lake court date of Nov. 17 at 9:00 a.m.
