Three charged after traffic stop

Police received reports of a possible intoxicated driver.

FORT FRANCES — OPP have charged three people in a drug investigation. 

On August 23, police conducted a traffic stop just before 4 a.m. on Second Street East after receiving reports of a possible intoxicated driver. 

During their investigation, provincial police discovered that two of the three occupants of the vehicle had active warrants for their arrest.

After a thorough search of the vehicle, officers located what appeared to be methamphetamine as well as a large quantity of what appeared to be cocaine. 

A 27-year-old from Couchiching First Nation, and a 33 and 38-year-old from Fort Frances are all facing a pair of drug-related charges. 

One person was remanded into custody, and all have future court dates.
