KENORA — An investigation in Kenora resulted in what police are calling a significant seizure of crystal meth.

Provincial police said a search warrant was executed in the 200 block of Ninth Street South on Tuesday, which led to seizures of crystal methamphetaine, hydromorphone tablets, cocaine, and other items used in the sale of drugs.

The value of the drugs seized is estimated at $34,000, police said.

Three people, all from Kenora, were arrested.

They are each charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

"Methamphetamine destroys lives and threatens the safety of our communities," police said in the news release. "It has emerged as one of the most significant commodities within organized crime; methamphetamine is entrenched from production, to importation and distribution."
