KENORA – Friday night was an excellent day for racing at Lake of the Woods Speedway for all three classes.

Brandon Rehill (#4b) took the top spot in the Q104 WISSOTA midwest modified with Ed Bell’s (#14) in second and Sioux Lookout’s of Pat Davis (#10d) in third.

The WISSOTA Pure Stocks heat race saw rookie driver Alexander Farr go from fifth place to first, overtaking Morgan McDonald and Michael Copp early on in the race. This was Farr’s first feature win in the pure stock class.

During the run, Logan McDonald and Alex Mira started on top, but Mira took the early lead and maintained it.

Meanwhile, Farr hugged Copp and McDonald until Farr was able to clear them both.

It seemed that Farr gaining a decent lead.

According to the Lake of the Wood Speedways release, Copp's throttle stuck, which sent him into the wall. The car came to a stop with an engine shutdown and a flat tire.

Copp wasn’t injured, but that was the end of the race for him

As Farr and Mira pulled ahead, the race was between them for six laps, until Farr was able to make the pass on the outside taking his first-ever Win in the WISSOTA Pure Stocks.

In the Q104 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Brandon Rehill took on with Edward Bell.

During the race, Rehill played it straight. Trying for an inside pass to gather enough momentum, Bell was right there keeping the road to himself.

After a few laps, Rehill changed his strategy and back challenged Bell on the outside.

Seeking victory, Bell still wouldn’t let up on Rehill; however, Rehill took the win by a foot. Bell finished second, Pat Davis rounding out the top 3.

In the 4-Cylinders, two heats were on the docket.

In heat one, Brodie Mcgowan’s car took the win from Jake Mazur and Bryan Smith, who placed second and third

In heat two, Mercedes Audette grabbed the top spot, while Kamea Mulholland and Hayden Audette grabbed the second and third spots.
