Theft report results in charges for Kenora resident

An afternoon theft in Kenora has resulted in charges.

KENORA -- A Kenora resident is facing charges after police respond to an afternoon theft.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers responded to a theft call on Sunday, March 13 around 3:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Second Street South.

Police attended and located the accused nearby, where they became combative with officers while being taken into custody.

 As a result of the investigation, Rhys SINCLAIR, 21, of Kenora has been charged with theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court.

The accused was held for bail court.
