T3PS & OPP execute search warrant in Seine River First Nation

FORT FRANCES – According to Treaty Three Police Service’s (T3PS) Drug Enforcement Unit, the OPP’s Northwest Region Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in Seine River First Nation on January 8.

In a release, T3PS found various amounts of hydromorphone, crack cocaine, and oxycodone.

Officers also stated they found $6,000 in drug-related proceeds, a loaded handgun, ammunition, and other items related to trafficking illicit substances.

A 22-year-old male and a 54-year-old female were arrested and charged with multiple criminal offences of drug trafficking.

In addition to the drug trafficking charges, the 22-year-old was charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition, obstructing a peace officer, identity fraud, carrying a concealed prohibited device or ammunition, carelessly carrying a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and carrying a prohibited firearm.

The 22-year-old remains in custody, while the 54-year-old has been released on several conditions and has a court date in March.
