KENORA — Synergy North customers in the City of Kenora will see a decrease in their monthly charges starting in May.
The Ontario Energy Board has approved adjustments in local distribution revenue, transmission and regulatory rates that will result in bills decreasing by $2.51, or 1.9 per cent, for residential customers.
In Thunder Bay, where the utility also operates, bills will increase by $2.75 a month or 2.2 per cent.
In an announcement Monday, Synergy North said it has now harmonized its rates between the two communities to create a uniform rate for all customers.
The corporation said the changes are part of an ongoing effort to ensure the sustainability and reliability of electricity services in Thunder Bay and Kenora.
The changes take effect May 1, and will be reflected on most bills by the end of the month.
