PIKANGIKUM FIRST NATION — A sudden death is under investigation in the remote First Nation of Pikangikum.
Red Lake OPP, Pikangikum Peacekeepers and emergency medical services responded to a call on June 1 at 10 p.m.
The individual in distress was transported to the Pikangikum Nursing Station, where they were pronounced deceased.
Tina Turtle, 61, was identified as the deceased; she was from Pikangikum.
A postmortem examination will be conducted in Toronto, and police are continuing their investigation.
