Stolen vehicle recovered in Dryden

Charges were laid against one individual after the OPP found a stolen vehicle from a business in Kenora.

HAYCOCK TOWNSHIP – According to the OPP, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on March 4 officers with the Dryden detachment received a report of a pick-up truck stolen from a business in Kenora.

Officers out on patrol located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop for police.

A short time later, police once again located the stolen vehicle on Memorial Avenue in Dryden. They were able to apprehend the driver successfully.

As a result, a 33-year-old from Wabigoon Lake First Nation has been arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation, fleeing a police officer, and driving without a license.  

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 15.
