FORT FRANCES — A 20-year-old has been arrested after a fraud investigation.

Provincial police in Fort Frances said they initially received a report on Jan. 6 that a community member had their bank card stolen, and it was being used at local businesses.

Police were able to identify a suspect and obtained a search warrant for the suspect's residence, where stolen merchandise was found.

The accused is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and identify theft.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Fort Frances court in March.
