Special weather statement in effect for parts of the region

Strong winds are expected Tuesday for parts of the region.

NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for parts of the region on Tuesday.

The government weather agency says strong northwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 80 kilometres an hour is expected now into Tuesday evening.

Residents should be aware that loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.

  • Ignace - English River
  • Atikokan - Shebandowan - Quetico Park
  • Upsala - Raith
