NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for parts of the region, warning of a snowfall.
A special weather statement Tuesday morning says snowfall is expected to start Tuesday night, with total snowfall amounts of five to 10 centimetres with locally higher amounts possible.
The Atikokan-Upsala-Quetico area is expected to see 10 to 20 centimetres with locally higher amounts of 25 to 30 centimetres starting Wednesday morning into Thursday.
A low pressure system will affect the area from Wednesday into Thursday. Snow, which could be heavy at times is expected with this system.
Temperatures are expected to be near 0C,which may allow rain to mix in with the snow on Wednesday before transitioning to snow Wednesday night.
