Special weather statement has been issued for parts of the region

NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada warns of significant snowfall possible Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The government weather agency says snow will move into the area Tuesday night from west to east and continue into Wednesday.

Total snowfall amounts of up to 15 centimetres are possible before snow tapers off from west to east Wednesday afternoon.

Areas near Lake Superior might see the highest snowfall amounts.

At this time, there remains considerable uncertainty regarding the track of the low, and thus the total amount of snowfall.

  • Ear Falls - Perrault Falls - Western Lac Seul
  • Red Lake - Woodland Caribou Park
  • Savant Lake - Sturgeon Lake
  • Sioux Lookout - Eastern Lac Seul
