KENORA -- City officials are reminding Kenora residents that snow removal operations have begun in a couple of areas this week.

Crews will be plowing snow on Ninth Street North to 12th Avenue North and Valley Drive from Minto Street to Airport Road until March 11

Traffic control will be present during plowing operations.

Residents should expect traffic delays in these areas.

City officials say the work plan is subject to change if there is a change in weather or if emergencies and other snow event priorities develop.

Signs will be posted in the snow removal area to indicate ‘No Parking’ zones.  Vehicles parked in a signed snow removal zone may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

As the city works to clear snow and ice from roads and sidewalks, snow may be left behind, creating windrows. While the operators do their best to prevent this from happening, their priority is to clear the travelled portion of the road or sidewalk.
