THUNDER BAY — An air quality warning is in effect for the entire Northwestern Ontario region.
From the Manitoba border right across to Longlac, and from the U.S. border up to North Caribou Lake is included in an air quality warning issued Tuesday afternoon.
Environment Canada said smoke from the Prairies has moved over to this region, which has caused very high levels of air pollution.
The poor air quality is expected to continue through Wednesday in most areas.
It is recommended by Environment Canada to limit time outdoors and consider rescheduling outdoor sports, activities, and events while the air quality warning is in effect.
The smoky air has more of an effect on older people, pregnant people, infants, and young children.
More information about the alert can be found on Environment Canada's website.
