SIOUX LOOKOUT — The province's police oversight agency has invoked its mandate after an individual suffered an injury in a cell at the Sioux Lookout OPP detachment.

Police, in a release issued on Friday evening, said they were called on Wednesday, July 30 to a report of an intoxicated man. They subsequently took the man into custody, and while he was in custody he suffered an injury which required transport to hospital for treatment.

The OPP informed the Special Investigations Unit and as a result, OPP are unable to provide further information about the incident.
