SIOUX LOOKOUT—The Township of Sioux Lookout Chamber of Commerce is holding its own separate event this year. Why the difference?
In previous years, the trade show was held at the same time as the annual Blueberry Festival. As a result, the Chamber found that attendees were unable to appreciate the exhibits present at the trade show because they tended to be more focussed on the Blueberry Festival.
Therefore, to do both of the important community events justice, they now are being held on their own separate days.
According to Amit Amin, an employee at the Sioux Lookout Chamber of Commerce office, he explained further why the split dates. “In the past, we have run the Trade Show with the Blueberry Festival. But to give attendees the chance to enjoy both events better, the Chamber decided to separate and hold this year’s trade show as a separate event,” explained Amin.
The primary purpose of the date change is to allow for the community to enjoy both the Blueberry Festival and the Chamber of Commerce Trade Show equally.
This year’s trade show is taking place at Sioux Lookout Arena Centre, on July 21, from 2 p.m.-8 p.m., and again on July 22, 2022, from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
The trade show will highlight local businesses, individuals and groups including:
- Alzheimer’s Society Kenora/Rainy River
- Fresh Market
- Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre
- First Mining Gold Corp
- TBaytel
- Sioux Lookout MNR
- First Step Women Shelter
- Municipality of Sioux Lookout…and more…
The Chamber wants the community to know too, that there is still room at the trade show for several more exhibitors. Should you be interested, you must contact the Chamber at 807-737-1937 before the end of the day July 19, 2022.
