ALBERTON TOWNSHIP — A vehicle ended up in the ditch after a single-car collision in Alberton Township.
On May 2, OPP in Fort Frances were called to a collision scene near Frog Creek Road at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The driver wasn't located at the scene, but police were able to find the 33-year-old man a short while later. Police investigated and administered a roadside screening test that the driver subsequently failed.
Officers had also learned that the driver was prohibited from driving due to a court order and had a driver's licence suspension.
The driver was transported to the Fort Frances detachment, where additional breath testing was completed.
The suspect was charged with impaired operation 80 milligrams and over, failure to comply with a release order other than to attend court, and driving while their licence was suspended.
The accused was held by police for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Fort Frances Ontario Court of Justice on May 7, for a bail hearing.
