Shoal Lake 39 woman charged in connection with death of 18-year-old

SHOAL LAKE 39 FIRST NATION — A 32-year old woman has been charged connection with the death of 18-year-old William Prince in January, according to a news release issued by Ontario Provincial Police on Friday.

The woman is charged with impaired driving and failure to stop at an accident resulting in death.

Police said Prince was located on a roadway in Shoal Lake 39 First Nation on Jan. 17. He was later pronounced dead. Both Prince and the accused are local to the First Nation, according to police.

The arrest was made on Oct. 9 by officers with the OPP and  Treaty Three Police Service. The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 7.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone who may have information to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
