NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon.
The government weather agency says a low pressure system from the Dakotas will bring locally heavy rain and a risk of severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon.
The main threats are strong winds up to 90 kilometres an hour and large hail up to three centimetres
Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

- Atikokan - Shebandowan - Quetico Park
- Dryden - Vermilion Bay
- Ignace - English River
- Fort Frances - Emo - Rainy River
- Seine River Village - Mine Centre
- Kenora - Grassy Narrows - Whitedog
