Search warrant leads Lac Seul Police to arrest

A 31-year-old man was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with a release order.

KEJICK BAY — Early on Wednesday morning, Lac Seul Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in Kejick Bay that resulted in an arrest.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with a drug trafficking distribution investigation in the community of Lac Seul First Nation.

Police seized one ounce of suspected cocaine, one ounce of cannabis, about 28 grams of hashish, 14 grams of shatter, and $1,300 in Canadian cash, four replica handguns, three rifles, and other items that are consistent with drug trafficking.

The suspect was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with a release order.

Lac Seul Police Service said they are continuing to investigate.
