ALBERTON — A school bus collision is under investigation on Highway 611 in Alberton Township.

The Fort Frances OPP responded to the report of a single-vehicle rollover involving a school bus at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

While students were on board the bus at the time of the rollover, police stated, in a media release, that only minor injuries had been reported.

The collision’s cause has not yet been determined, said the OPP.

“The investigation is ongoing and we’d like to thank the public for their cooperation. Please continue to drive with caution and stay safe,” wrote the police on the Northwest Region OPP’s Facebook page.

The OPP will continue the investigation with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team and the Treaty Three Police Service. Two technical collision investigators were also assigned.

In the meantime, traffic on Hwy 611 is restricted to allow the investigators to work at the scene safely.
