KENORA—The City of Kenora opened its hazardous waste depot June 2, 2022. Beginning Thursday, June 9, and for the next 16 Thursdays, residents can visit the depot and discard, their household hazardous waste free of charge.

This service is available to Kenora residents only and will run every Thursday, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The city wishes to remind residents of some important depot rules. When dropping off their household hazardous waste, the city wants everyone to remember that all items must be carefully packed and clearly marked.

All sharp objects should be sealed in a plastic container with a lid and no home-based business, industrial, or commercial hazardous waste is permitted.

Finally, they want residents to avoid dropping off their regular garbage at the depot and to ensure that no radioactive or PCB waste is disposed off at the household hazardous waste depot.

The final date for this free service is Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022.
