Home destroyed by suspicious fire: OPP

The Atikokan OPP are investigating a suspicious house fire.

A home in Atikokan was completely destroyed by what OPP are calling a suspicious fire.

ATIKOKAN – Officers with the Atikokan OPP detachment responded to a house fire in the Starr Street area at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 14.

Police found the single detached dwelling fully engulfed in flames as emergency services arrived on the scene.

OPP stated that the home was completely destroyed, and the buildings beside it were also damaged in what they are calling a suspicious fire.

No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation by Rainy River District OPP Crime Unit and the Town of Atikokan Fire Rescue Service.
