RED LAKE—The College of Physicians of Ontario kicked off “Physicians Appreciation Week” this week and the community of Red Lake is well into celebrating this initiative.
The city has had a great response from residents sharing their stories about how much they truly appreciate and commend the dedication and commitment of all physicians serving the community.
A member from the community expressed her gratitude in her recent letter, shared with the community by Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital. In it she said, “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our incumbent physicians, and our locum physicians who serve this community 24/7 endlessly. These last two years have been challenging in an unprecedented way, and at times even life threatening to this amazing group of people, as well as to the rest of the world. There is no training or experience could truly prepare any physician for what was asked of them in this pandemic.”
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, “compliment a physician” initiative encourages community members to take the time this week to, “Let that physician know how much you appreciate the care and/or treatment you or a family member received.”
Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital administration shared what they would like this week to be about stating that, “We would like this week to be about recognizing the great care we receive from our physicians.”
