RED LAKE -- A 44-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop on two motorized snow vehicles.
According to a Red Lake OPP release, officers initiated a traffic stop on Feb. 26 around 6:30 p.m. on two motorized snow vehicles along Goldshore Road, within the Municipality of Red Lake.
Through investigation, it was determined that both operators had been consuming alcohol, however, one of the operators was determined to be over the legal limit.
Police say one operator was placed under arrest and returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old of Red Lake, was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He was released by way of undertaking for Red Lake court on April 21, 2022 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.
