RED LAKE — This might be a long shot but the curator of the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre is looking for information on a hidden Red Lake gem.

Project Post Narrows is an award-winning documentary film about an archaeological field trip made by Grade 11 students.

“I was looking through some of our newspaper clippings and photographs from the 1960s and 1970s and I came across this,” Lise Hughes said.

The newspaper clipping, which can be viewed on the the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre’s Facebook page, announced that the film won a TVO Regional Creative Talent Series competition.

According to the news clipping, Project Post Narrows follows the students on their trip to the former Hudson’s Bay post and First Nations burial ground.

In addition, a film called “The Marauders” by students from Atikokan High School came in second place.

“I do not have much information other than what is on our Facebook page. We have 2 photographs of the archaeological dig and we have a letter to the principal as well as this newspaper article,” Hughes said.

Hughes is hoping the Facebook post will help in her quest for information on this long-lost documentary.

The post has already gotten 18 comments from people who remember the film but were participants in it.

If you have any information about Project Post Narrows, contact the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre.
