Red Lake District High School student wins Northwestern Ontario Regional Science Fair

The Northwestern Ontario Regional Science Fair announced its awards winners recently. One recipient was Red Lake District High School student Erica Forsythe.

RED LAKE — Red Lake District High School was proud to announce that their student Erica Forsythe, was the Best in Fair winner at the Northwestern Ontario Regional Science Fair. This challenge attracts student entries from all over Ontario and requires days of investigating, research and analysis. For Forsythe, all of this hard work paid off.

Her project was title, Natural Antibiotics: Investigating the Relationship Between Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activity; a project that resulted in her receiving other awards.

For her entry, Forsythe also won the Thunder Bay Horticultural Society Award, a University of Ottawa scholarship and a NSERC Innovator Award. Forsythe will now compete in the Canada Wide Science Fair.

Congratulations from her local school, Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, and organizations within the province were shared with Erica.
