Rainfall warning in effect for parts of the region

Up to 60 centimetres is possible.

NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for parts of the region.

The government weather agency says this rainfall is due to a slow moving area of showers and thunderstorms that is expected to track east across the area on Tuesday.

Total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 millimetres is expected, and higher amounts are also possible for areas that receive multiple thunderstorms.

Rain, at times heavy, will continue through to Tuesday afternoon.
 

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Kenora - Grassy Narrows - Whitedog
  • Sioux Narrows - Nestor Falls - Morson
     

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Fort Frances - Emo - Rainy River
