NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for parts of the region on Thursday.
The government weather agency says two rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday morning and Thursday night.
The first round will taper off this morning, and the second is forecast to begin this evening and taper off Friday morning.
Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres is expected.
The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall.
There is considerable uncertainty regarding the rainfall amounts.

- Ignace - English River
- Fort Frances - Emo - Rainy River
- Seine River Village - Mine Centre
- Kenora - Grassy Narrows - Whitedog
- Sioux Narrows - Nestor Falls - Morson
- Savant Lake - Sturgeon Lake
- Sioux Lookout - Eastern Lac Seul
