Rainfall warning in effect for parts of region

Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 millimetres are expected.

NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning Friday for parts of the region.

According to Environment Canada, a Colorado Low is expected to bring a wintry mix of precipitation and then significant rainfall for portions of northwestern Ontario beginning Friday night through Sunday morning.

Precipitation may begin as snow, ice pellets, or freezing rain before changing completely to rain Friday evening or overnight.

Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 millimetres are expected; however, locally higher amounts are possible especially for areas that receive thunderstorms.

  • Dryden - Vermilion Bay
  • Ignace - English River
  • Fort Frances - Emo - Rainy River
  • Seine River Village - Mine Centre
  • Kenora - Grassy Narrows - Whitedog
  • Sioux Narrows - Nestor Falls - Morson
  • Ear Falls - Perrault Falls - Western Lac Seul
  • Red Lake - Woodland Caribou Park
  • Savant Lake - Sturgeon Lake
  • Sioux Lookout - Eastern Lac Seul
