DEER LAKE — Returning residents can expect Canada Post to resume its postal services in Deer Lake First Nation on Friday.

These services were put on hold in the First Nation since June 3, after a wildfire evacuation order was issued for the community, located nearly 600 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay.

The order resulted in a red delivery service alert, which closed the post office and placed a secure hold on incoming mail off-site.

However, the order has since been lifted, according to a Canada Post Media Advisory issued Friday morning.

Canada Post advises customers with questions regarding mail delivery to contact its customer service team online or by telephone at 1-866-607-6301.
