A suspect has been taken into custody after the Treaty Three Police Service had urged Naicatchewenin First Nation residents to stay inside due to a current and imminent threat to public safety in the community.
The police service issued the alert Thursday, advising that a potentially dangerous person has been reported to be in possession of a firearm.
Treaty Three police and Ontario Provincial Police are on scene.
The alert had cautioned residents to stay indoors, with doors and windows locked, and to not venture outside their homes.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity is urged to immediately contact police, and not confront the individual.
