Police seek aid in Beaver Post Trading Post break-in

The suspect took numerous items, including deer antlers and a taxidermized owl.

SHABAQUA — The OPP is requesting public aid to investigate a break-in at the Beaver Post Trading Post in the township of Savanne.

The police were dispatched last Tuesday to the business on Highway 17 to investigate the incident, which occurred on April 18 between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

The OPP, in a media release, said the suspect took numerous items after gaining entry, including deer antlers and a taxidermized owl.

The police request that the public provide any information they may have regarding this incident or the suspect by calling the Thunder Bay detachment at 807-939-2133 or the non-emergency number at 1-888-310-1122.

For those wishing to remain anonymous, the OPP added that residents can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or report online, where they may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
