Police responded to a weapons call at a high school in Fort Frances on Thursday, reporting the incident was resolved without injuries.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police’s Rainy River District detachment responded to a call regarding a youth in possession of a knife from Fort Frances High School around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police attended and immediately took the youth into custody, the OPP said.
The incident resulted in no injuries, an OPP spokesperson said. The force could not immediately provide details on whether the call involved an altercation or simply concerns over the presence of a knife.
In a release, the OPP said there is “no threat to public safety.”
Police are still investigating the incident.
