KENORA — Two suspects were arrested after police investigated reports of aggressive hitchhikers in the Kenora area.

Police received reports of aggressive hitchhikers who were jumping in front of vehicles attempting to hitchhike along Highway 17 near Whitehead Road on Thursday afternoon. OPP had advised motorists not to pick anyone up along the highway and to avoid the area until the police had given the all-clear.

Both suspects fled into the wooded area before officers arrived. One suspect was arrested quickly, while police continued to search for the second.

With the added assistance in the search for the second suspect, OPP was able to apprehend the second suspect.
