Police lay weapons charge in Sioux Lookout

A 26-year-old Sioux Lookout man faces multiple charges in Dec. 23 incident.

SIOUX LOOKOUT -- Ontario Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout have arrested a 26-year-old Sioux Lookout man after an argument at a Front Streeet business escalated.

Police said two patrons at the establishment were sparring verbally this past Saturday night when one of them allegedly assaulted the other.

Emmanual Smith was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, mischief and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded to the custody of the Kenora Jail. He's expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
